Welcome to Sunday morning from New Zealand. While many of you are enjoying your long, warm summer days (catch some rays for me!), it’s mid-winter here. Boy it’s been wild! We’ve had storms, power cuts and floods in some areas … thankfully, no-one’s been hurt.
It’s almost 9:30am and I’m just waiting for a friend to arrive at a local cafe for breakfast. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to share my morning with you.
Next week, I’ll be 7 months booze-free. So I thought waking up hangover free wouldn’t be exciting anymore. But no! The novelty of waking up Sunday morning, sans hangover, continues to delight and excite!!! Oh yes!!! I get such a kick out of waking up without a hangover.
I’ve already written about the benefits of being hangover-free in the weekends. Here’s one such post if you’re interested. Since I’ve already covered that ground I won’t rehash that stuff. I must say though, knowing I didn’t drink last night means I bound out of bed like The Energizer Bunny in the morning! 🎉🐇😀
The following point might sound trivial. Please take from it what serves you. However the point of this post is to simply remind oneself that giving up drinking means it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference. For example:
- Waking up without regrets.
- Waking up with energy.
- Waking up well rested.
- Making a commitment to a wonderful friend for breakfast… something I would never have done on Sunday mornings as a drinker.
- Waking up with self-esteem in tact.
- Waking up with a sense of purpose, peace and stability.
My friend will be here shortly. I was a bit early as I walked around the bays to get here rather than drive. Another thing I would never have done at 8:30am on a Sunday morning! It was wild, windy and reminded me I’m alive!
We only get one shot at living. So let’s make it the best shot possible.
Enjoy your weekend friends, thanks for popping by. 🙋🏽❤️🔆🌴
