About

The purpose of this blog is to share my journey about becoming alcohol free in a heavy drinking culture. Leaving no stone unturned, this journey has come with battle scars and benefits. All will be shared over the coming months.

I started this journey on New Year’s Day in 2017. For a boozer / pisshead / wine lover / drinker, this is THE LONGEST booze-free stretch in my 20-year drinking career. It’s been scary, challenging, awkward…. but it’s also been THE BEST decision I’ve ever made.

Alas! I see no valude in dredging up the past, recounting train wreck stories as a drinker. Rather; this blog will be used to to pay it forward. This blog will offer you my considered advice and personal insights to hopefully help others cut back or quit alcohol.

This blog is authentic – all of the content (including the photos!) is my own. I will always credit the work of others. Plagiarism is not part of this site.

I invite your feedback, thoughts and questions about becoming alcoholfree. I also invite you to follow me on Twitter @nowineimfine

Thank you for reading. Enjoy.

    • Thank you my friend. It’s taken me through the full spectrum of emotions! But they are mostly good ones; something I wouldn’t change for anything.
Really appreciate your kind and supportive feedback. Thank you for taking time to share your thoughts. I enjoy your blog btw xoxo

  1. I love what you say about not reliving drinking stories. This endless dragging out of the dregs of a drinking life, I feel, is unnecessary and counter productive, for me at least. It is not turning a blind eye, and I don’t need it to fortify my will not to drink. I want my life to be based on POSITIVE thinking, healing, and forgiveness. I like the quote: “When the past comes calling, don’t answer. It has nothing to say.” I want to focus on the present, and use the past only as a positive force for healing.
